Beavers Bend State Park
The park is the organizing hub of the entire Hochatown trip, offering fly fishing, boating, swimming, dozens of miles of marked hiking trails, an 18-hole golf course, a nature center, an amphitheater, and winter eagle watching from November through February. On-site lodging includes 47 cabins, more than 393 campsites, a lakeside lodge, and two yurts, meaning you can base your entire stay here without ever leaving. A parking pass is required to stop within the park, though no general admission fee is charged.
The Forest Heritage Center, on-site restaurant (The Lookout Kitchen), gift shop, and grocery store make the park self-sufficient for both day-trippers and overnight guests. If this is the only item on the itinerary, a full week wouldn’t be too long.
