Hiking
Skyline Trail
The most demanding trail in Beavers Bend, the Skyline Trail is a challenging 8-to10-mile loop that takes experienced hikers through the park’s backcountry and past a hidden waterfall.
The trail gains more than 1,400 feet of elevation, with steep rocky climbs, narrow ridgeline traverses, and multiple creek crossings that run deep after heavy rain. The remote sections it accesses see far less foot traffic than the shorter loops, giving the experience a quieter, more wilderness-like character. Views of the surrounding mountains and glimpses of the Mountain Fork River are available from several high points along the ridge.
This is a full-day commitment. Plan accordingly with food, water, and a downloaded offline map. Trekking poles are genuinely useful on the steeper sections.
