Hochatown Rescue Center & Petting Zoo
A certified wildlife rehabilitation facility and hands-on petting zoo, the Hochatown Rescue Center offers an animal experience grounded in genuine conservation work.
Founded in 2015, the center houses approximately 95% rescued animals, creatures that have been surrendered, orphaned, or injured and cannot be returned to the wild. Visitors can interact with barnyard animals, birds, reptiles, and exotic species while staff explain the rehabilitation work happening on-site. An active kitten rescue program also runs year-round.
Located along Highway 259 north of Hochatown, the center works well for families with young children and anyone interested in animal welfare. The combination of education and hands-on contact makes it a more substantive stop than most attractions in the area.

A fine art gallery and event venue just south of Choctaw Landing on Highway 259, Gallery 259 is the most substantive visual art destination in the Hochatown area.

One of the most family-friendly attractions in the park, Beavers Bend Depot combines a scenic replica train ride with guided horseback trail rides through the Ouachita Mountain forest.
