When you name your short-term rental cabin or home, you are branding it with a unique identity. This can be very beneficial for marketing purposes, as well as for creating a sense of community among your guests and one they will remember. In this blog post, we will discuss three reasons why naming your property is a great strategy for growing your short term rental business and adding value to your brand.

1. Naming Your Vacation Rental Helps Create Brand Identity

When naming your vacation rental it creates an identity for your brand. Giving your short-term rental a unique name will help with your Website, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest marketing. Giving you a cohesive look and feel across all platforms for people to find you. It's also a fun way to get creative with your name.

2. Guests Will Remember For Repeating Booking

If you have created marketing and branding around your short term rental with the name you chose it will help people remember you. For Example "Bella Cresta Cabin" is what we named our cabin. People will remember this name amongst all the other cabins in our area. Also, once you have created your social media presence they can then follow you and even #hashtag your property when they stay. This creates the chance for more people to find your cabin.

3. Named Vacation Homes Show Up in Search Results

If a traveler has spoken with a friend who told them about this amazing vacation home in Broken Bow called the “Bella Cresta Cabin,” it’s an identifier that can easily lead them to the property. A recent survey about vacation rental marketing found that 74% of travelers looking for a rental would “Google” the name of the property outside of OTAs.

Tips for Naming Your Property

Whether your property is a single-family home or a condo it will benefit from having a name. Here are two tips for choosing the perfect name for your vacation rental:

  • Make it Meaningful – Consider why you chose the location, the property's history, the view, amenities, or other factors. When you tie the name to your house in a meaningful way, guests are more inclined to tell others about it.

  • Make it Unique – One of the most significant advantages you'll get from naming your house is that it'll be simpler to locate, so do some internet research to verify that the name isn't already taken. If you're using a name that isn't particularly unusual, make sure to include the location as well.

In the competitive vacation rental market, you need a differentiator to set yourself apart from the competition. Naming your cabin is an excellent approach to launch your brand, making an impression on visitors, and paying homage to a classic practice that is still an effective and inexpensive way to promote your vacation rentals.
